Summary: Inuyasha defeated Naraku and had to choose.
Author's notes: written 3-4 years ago... old old old. Sad. I can only write sad fics I guess.
---------------------------
The fight was over.
Naraku is now dead, lying limply on the blood-covered ground with his eyes opened and blank, never again able to stare and laugh at victims of his evil acts. His mouth was open in frozen terror with blood trickling down to join in the blackish pool of his blood and guts from other wounds; it will never again make another evil chuckle.
Inuyasha stood beside the pitiful figure on the blood pool, breathing heavily while limping on the Tetsusiga. His father's fang had given him powers, though of different kinds, even until the very end. After a moment of silence and regaining strength, Inuyasha stood up and turned away from the corpse.
It is now time for a new beginning.
But... Will he really have a new beginning? Can he really forget the pain that he went though?
His two lovers approached him from the distance. Both the same face, same soul... but different.
Can he forget the love he felt fifty years ago and live with his new love? Or can he forget all the good times he had this year and go back to the one he lost?
...No.
His two lovers approached. Now is the time to chose between the two.
Yet... There is a third choice, hidden in the dark corner of fear.... Yes, he will pick the third choice.
Again, the first question repeated in his mind. Will I have a future? ...No.
The two women are now clearly visible; they are now close enough even for human eyes to see perfectly.
...now is the time.
With one swift motion, Inuyasha turned the Tetsusiga over so the deadly tip points to his beating heart. The Tetsusiga will yet give him one last power... the power of suicide.
Will I have a new beginning? ...No.
Pain... ...and somehow...
Relief... Relief from not having to face them. However, there was something else...
...Guilt... Guilt from leaving them behind.
Now they are both beside him. It surprised him a lot, for a second ago they were so distant, and now they were holding him.
Somehow, a smile crept onto Inuyasha's face as a certain pervert came to his mind. He can almost hear Miroku speaking:
"What a lucky guy, not one but TWO women falling head over heels for you..." The imaginary voice blurred and faded into the distance...
And so did his vision.
However, his ears and nose is still as sharp as ever, and he can hear voices...
... voices of his beloved.
But just one of them. "It's all your fault... if only you never came..." His hearing faded as well.
Suddenly, a body fell down limply beside him, hitting his. Although his sense of smell already told him who the body belonged to, he still tried to open his eyes so he can get a glimpse of his loved one before he visit death...
...or maybe, before both of them visit death.
Then again...
...he won't need to look before he die, because then they can see each other plenty of times... With his mind made up, Inuyasha rolled over so he can hold her dead body close to his own dying one.
Then with his last breath, he whispered a phrase he's been trying to say ever since the first day they met.
"I..."
He has been running away too much...
"...love..."
...too long...
"...you..."
...but now he had made a choice...
"... so much..."
...he's not running anymore.
"Kagome..."
end
