I finally wrote a one shot that didn't include an OC.
Enjoy!
Another Chance
Kuronue wasn't human, that much was obvious.
He was a demon.
A creature.
His violet eyes had a darkness to them. They seemed quite unsettling.
He had clawed fingers, very tapered ears, fangs, and two long, very powerful black leathery wings protruding from between his shoulder blades.
If any human were to see him, they'd have no problem declaring him a product of pure and absolute evil.
And they'd be right.
Kuronue was evil.
He wasn't nice.
He had no interest in humans.
They were weak and stupid beings that weren't worth his time.
An easy meal if one were ever to cross his path, sure.
But he wanted nothing to do with them.
He didn't go out of his way to pursue them like many other demons of the Makai did.
But this was a long time ago...
Things change.
His demeanor from once upon a time burned away.
He changed.
Change was inevitable.
Especially when he spent so much time around him.
Him.
Youko Kurama.
But he was different.
He wasn't the same ethereal being he partook in heists with long ago.
Thick crimson colored hair replaced the long, flowing silver he had grown accustomed to. His eyes were an emerald color, instead of gold. But they still revealed nothing beyond what the fox intended you to see.
And he was no longer taller than the winged demon.
No.
He was shorter.
But his body was still just as lithe, and his movements were just as graceful as they had been before.
There were no fur covered ears on top of his head, nor was there a tail that was swaying back and forth, aimlessly, behind him. Those were definitely absent.
Kurama had taken human form, which was very different from his demon body.
And Kuronue had to admit that he didn't like this... at first.
But after a few weeks, he got used to Kurama's new form.
On top of that, Kuronue found that humans were quite interesting creatures.
To an extent.
However, he couldn't help but think that he just learned to tolerate them better, now that Kurama was living amongst them.
But that didn't matter.
Kuronue found that he was happy.
Since he had been given a chance at living once again and had been reunited with his best friend.
And he got to thinking...
Maybe things weren't so bad after all.
