Just a Melody Away…

After Tamaki-senpai transferred to another school, the Host Club just became a part of the history of Ouran Gakuen.

I became a normal female 'Junior Special Student' of the High School Department. Another semester arrived and it started with an uproar on the Third Music Room…

"Mina-san, a new Host Club will be established!" Renge-chan announced. Hikaru and Kaoru grinned – practicing their lines while their fangirls / costumers squealed.

'Host Club, eh? Natsukashi…'

I smiled. I remembered the fun memories I shared with everyone… can kicking, Daruma-san Fell, the cosplay…

'Tamaki-senpai…'

"Haven't you heard, Haruhi-kun," one of my costumers approached me. "Tamaki-sama already arrived!"

"Eh?! When?!"

"Awhile ago. He is at the Third Music Room…"

I know it's rude to interrupt a person speaking but the thought of Tamki-senpai coming back…

My heart skipped a beat when my mind replayed the moments we had together.

I cried when I reached the painful memory of seeing him defend me. If at that time I was strong enough to defend myself , he wouldn't get hurt because of my stupidity…

Because of my lack of judgment, he needed to be operated outside Japan just to live…

I looked at the door in front of me and summoned all my courage and concentration. I heard a melody – the same melody he let me listened before the dreadful event happened.

When I opened the door, he sat there, welcoming me into his warm and comforting arms. I cried like a moron. He still wore the smile that spellbound my mind drawing me into loving him – as a lover.

He brushed my hair with his manly hand and whispered something in my ear, "Daijoubou. Ore ga mamoru." I smiled at him.

I'm glad that he still kept the promise we made to each other – not leaving each others side.

Now, as I lay in my bed where a new life awaits where everyone who cherished and supported me gave their speech I looked at them in a form that would last forever.

Honey-sempai, Mori-sempai, Renge-chan and my costumers cried. Hikaru and Kaoru are there, comforting each other – probably practicing another brotherly act. My dad, who cried the most, wiped his tears with his white handkerchief.

I want to tell them 'Thank you and goodbye' but his image blocked the light above me.

Tamaki-sempai welcomed me into his arms, helping me to get on the carriage that would take us to a place where our love would be eternal.

I looked down below and whispered the word 'Thank you' to the ones who stayed there, continuing their lives without us.

How we wish these words would reach them…

And thus she met Tamaki

A/N: The story took place years after Haruhi broke the vase and becoming a host. Tamaki died because of the unsuccessful operation that was caused by a gang trying to do something improper to his Haruhi one night. Tamaki fought trying to save Haruhi.

Haruhi died because of the loss (not suicide) of her lover.

This story is just a memory before she met Tamaki in the afterlife.
