Loneliness, a feeling I know all too well. An empty, crushing feeling. After the war that was probably the only feeling I had.
During that time I hardly ever saw his smiling face, my only light and warmth. I wonder, when his smile made me feel so…happy, I guess that's the only way to describe it. If you could hear my thoughts now I know what you would say, in your cheery voice, "Ve~! Ludwig! You think too much!"
Perhaps you're right Feliciano; I do have a tendency to over think things. But there is one thing that I know for sure; you are the cure to my loneliness, the warmth to my cold, the light to my dark.
"I-I love you…" as I whisper this aloud I pull you close and begin to drift to sleep.
Italy sat up in bed and smiled, brushing Germany's blonde bangs aside, and placed a light kiss to the German's forehead.
"Ve~! I love you too Ludwig."
Germany awoke to the soft sounds of birds chirping in the distance, and a weight on his chest. Slowly opening his eyes, he was met face to face with Italy.
Germany chuckled softly reaching up to gently stroke the Italian's soft hair.
"Guten morgen liebeling."
Italy grinned at his words; he always loved it when Germany would speak to him in German.
"Ve~! Good morning Ludwig" Italy kissed his cheek and rolled off of Ludwig, climbing out of bed to get dressed.
"Hey wait a minute, that wasn't a proper good morning kiss." Germany said frowning. Italy giggled, "I'm sorry Ludwig, I didn't know you wanted me to kiss you every morning."
Germany blushed at his words, "Well, ja of course! Because I…urm, well you know"
Italy tried to hold back more giggles, Ludwig was so cute when he was flustered. Germany was always comfortable telling Italy he loved him when the Italian was asleep, but it was harder for him when he was awake.
"Hm, I'm not sure I do know…" Italy said trying his best to look innocent.
Germany blushed even more and sighed "Well, y-yes Italy I-I would like you to kiss me every morning b-because, ich liebe dich"
Italy climbed back into bed and gave Germany a proper good morning kiss.
"Oh Germany don't worry I know you do, it's just nice to hear it while I'm awake"
