When she first met him, he was silently raging for his mother. Raging against the world for leaving him alone, just as she had when Hades had first taken her away and tricked her.

She had fallen in love with him straight away, with his black hair which looked like dark chocolate and blue green eyes the exact same colour of the sea, a delicacy you hardly ever saw in the Underworld, and something that you only saw as a midnight black nightmare that would in essence kill you. It certainly felt like he would kill her with how much she felt about him.

She had been feeling chained down by Hades lately, and his arrival in her Lords realm set her free, made her feel as though the metaphorical chains that kept her down here were being released. If only he could stay. She was pretty sure that Hades knew that she was thinking this.

He slipped away from the Camp and from his school and his life and talked to her so often, she felt like his diary. And she felt important when she thought about this, because she knew that he didn't confide so much in his mortal girlfriend that he didn't really want to go out with.

He once asked her if he could stay in the Underworld just to get away from his life for a while, and she cheered inwardly. She saw Hades occasionally watching her with a sly smile and she found herself feeling happiness. She wondered if this was how he felt when he was with that Maria woman. If so, then she couldn't blame him and would have done this years ago.

Hades sidled up to her one day and asked her quietly if she wanted him to stay in the Underworld. Her answer had been 'Do you even need to ask me that, My Lord?'

His sly smile had proved to her that he knew her more than she would have liked. And for once, she was totally glad of it.

The next time Percy came to the Underworld, Hades knocked him unconscious, and gave him an entire pomegranate, forcing him to swallow when he needed to. She felt almost sorry for him, knowing that he would feel as she had done for a while. Trapped with people that hated him. Alone, Isolated. Well, he got on with her and Nico. So there would eventually be problem there.

When he had woken up and found out he could never leave the Underworld, he had screamed and raged and cried himself to sleep. He had asked for his father, but Persephone knew that Poseidon could cause a problem if he truly wanted his son back in the world of the living. They would deal with it as it came.

But Persephone would show him that he would enjoy the Underworld with Nico and Hades and all the ghosts, and her.

She would make him need her, just as she needed him.
