When I was a kid rainy days were good news. They meant cancelled baseball games and that meant my anime shows could go on as scheduled instead of having their air time screwed up by overtime innings. Nowadays the weather doesn't matter, all the stadiums have doom tops to shelter the field. Rainy days lost their plus side in my book, they're usually just depressing.
I'm not sure of that conclusion anymore though. A new positive has shown it's lilac haired self... which is actually a strange way to think of it since optimism isn't really her specialty.
"Konata?"
Speak of the pessimistic. "Yeah?"
"You're staring, which I should probably be used to by now but it's creepy."
"Not my fault you're so nice to look at."
I love it when she blushes, especially when I cause it.
"Try to restrain yourself," she mutters, pressing her face into my side.
"No promises," I say, smiling down at her warm body curled atop of mine.
I tug on the edge of the blanket to better cover us and relax deeper into the cushion of the couch. The pelting drops on our apartment's window, the hum of the under stocked fridge and the mummer of the TV all fade out as my ear's focus zeros in on the smallest sigh made by the coconut shampoo scented head resting on my rib cage. That amazing feeling only she's ever been able to provoke floods my chest at the sound. It's a content sigh, one that say's 'all is right' and 'there's nowhere else I'd rather be' without a word having to be spoken.
I couldn't agree more.
A/N This was just something I had to get out of my system. I'm considering starting a fic of this same pairing. Any thoughts? Reviews are greatly appreciated.
