Oh, ebony-scarlet Queen, why do you taunt me so?
Your beauty makes the spring a wretch;
Your eyes outshine the Moon.
Your voice makes the heavens sing;
Your steps make the cool breeze blow.

Oh, wonderful Queen, why do you taunt me so?
Your grace surpasses that of any;
Your manner invokes the best impressions.
Your heart is warmer than the sun;
Your will to give stretches to all.

Oh, darling Queen, why do you taunt me so?
Your laughter sets the world alive;
Your smile ignites the stars.
Your happiness makes me smile;
Your delightful presence is all I need.

Oh, beautiful Queen, why do you taunt me so?
I see you almost anywhere I go,
But you do not acknowledge me.
You may give a nod, or a small smile,
But it does not fulfill my desire.

Oh, harlequin Queen, why do you taunt me so?
You know I love you; that I always have.
You say you love me too, but you're with him.
He smirks at me every chance he gets;
I want to smite him as I know I can.

Oh, elusive Queen, why do you taunt me so?
Can you not give a poor tom a chance?
To show you the wonders his paw can create for you?
To show you love instead of only infatuation?
To finally make claim you as his love?

Oh, ebony-scarlet Queen, why do you taunt me so?
Your beauty gives the Moon delight,
Your smile ignites the sun,
Your voice makes the birds all sing,
Your presence enthralls my heart.

Oh, Jemima, why can't you be mine?
