Panico
Nico woke up disorientated, why does he always have to dream about Pan? The way he blows those pipes like a pro… NO! He shook his head to clear the dream when he heard a voice from his door,
"Nico, there's no need to be afraid"
"Wha-"Nico stuttered, his words caught in his throat, "Pan?"
"No, stupid. Why would Pan be here? He died, like, a million years ago!" Bianca marched into his room and picked up his MythoMagic magazine.
"So, what do you want for your birthday? You still like this right?"
"No…" Nico still hadn't told Bianca that their dad was Hades, that Pan could still be reached via the underworld, or even that he didn't like MythoMagic anymore, considering they weren't myths. But Pan…!
"…Um, actually I do.. um.. like it still. Yep. The only one I haven't got is Pan."
"Oh ok. I thought you didn't have Hades but ok. Bye loser." And with that, Bianca left the room.
Nico knew it was stupid to fantasize about a powerful God whose way out of his league but nothing mattered to Nico more than Pan. He'll just have to wait for his birthday to even see a glimpse of Pan outside of his dreams.
*January 28th – Nico's Birthday*
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR NICO, happy birthday to you!" Bianca, his mom and step dad cheerily sang.
"Thanks everyone" Nico sighed, grinning to himself as Bianca handed him her present.
"I know you'll like it!" Bianca assumed. Nico ripped off the wrapping paper which concealed the MythoMagic-shaped box, only to find…
"Hades?! Oh. Thanks Bianca," Nico said, feeling frustrated.
"Oh, I knew you would love it!" she replied, obviously not noticing the disappointment in his eyes.
Nico had made himself so excited for 1 month and 17 ½ days (no he DEFINITELY did not count that *Nico glances around sheepishly*) Why had he done this to himself? His parents said they'll buy him Hades, not Bianca, and his parents got him a MythoMagic book… he hasn't even liked MythoMagic for months!
"I'll go get some cake!" his sister jumped up from the sofa.
Why... WHY-
Huge vines wrapped around the ceiling and his mom and step dad froze mid-conversation.
"Wha-"Nico started, twice in 1 month and 17 ½ days.
"It is I!" a booming voice made the floor rumble and vibrate.
"P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-PANNN?!" Nico almost jumped up and down with excitement.
It is I!" Pan repeated, "I was drawn to your strong belief in me and I can't let you go."
"Where are you?" Nico whispered.
A long pair of goat legs appeared around the door, followed by a short body, and then, finally, Pan revealed himself in his true form. A huge head with long, bronze horns and all of a sudden, Nico got an urge to do some gardening and helping nature. Or was that just to impress Pan?
"Don't be afraid!" Pan mumbled and edged closer and closer to Nico.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" Bianca's shrieks filled the room, causing the vines to shrivel and everyone to unfreeze.
"Well..." Nico began. "Everyone, this is Pan…!"
