Hello!
It was a long, long time, since I updated/published anything, and I'm pretty sure I won't be updating anything in a while, because Percabeth is all I can write about right now.
Another one-shot of Percy and Annabeth being in Tartarus.
Enjoy!
"Interesting."
"Very interesting, indeed."
Percy tried to open his eyes.
But soon, he saw the same thing he was seeing for a while now.
A place, where he didn't want to be.
Tartarus.
He tightened his grip on Annabeth's hand and she squeezed back immediately, even though she was sleeping.
It was kind of their signal. Whenever they were resting, sleeping, one of them always squeezed the other's hand, to make sure that they're both alive and together.
He turned his eyes to her.
She looked miserable. She lost a lot of weight, she had scratches and wound on her whole body, and her ankle wasn't doing any better.
But still, everything what was keeping him alive, was that, she was still alive, with him.
Annabeth moved in sleep, scared, and he pulled her closer to him, if it was even possible.
Her warm breath tackled his chest.
"I've never seen anything like that."
Percy frowned. Yes, that was the voice, which woke him up.
He started to wonder if he should be scared.
Yes, he should be, but after everything they've been through, he didn't care.
"Who are you?" He asked, and his words echoed through the darkness.
"It doesn't matter, really."
Silence.
"So… What's interesting?" Percy tried again, tracing patterns on his girlfriend's back.
"You two. Like I said, I've never seen anything like this. It's new. And believe me, I've seen a lot."
"I don't… I don't quite understand, what are you talking about." Percy spoke slowly.
"I'm talking about the power of love, you moron. I'm thinking how in Hades, are you two still alive?"
"Honestly? I have no idea." Percy truly didn't. For the pasts week, they killed a lot of monsters, they didn't eat much, and they really haven't got any of sleep, until that night.
"Everything. Everything on this world, gods, monsters, Gaea herself, everything is nothing, comparing to your love for this one girl."
Once again, Percy pulled Annabeth closer to him. He was glad that she hasn't woke up yet. He wanted her to finally get some rest.
He thought about the voice's words.
"You fell with her, even though you knew what is going to happen. Why?"
"She would have done the same thing for me." He replied calmly, but firmly. "I swore to her, I swore to myself, that she will never get away from me again. And I think I would be in more pain now, if I knew that she was here, all alone, and that I let her go."
"I see." The voice said. "Well, Perseus, it's time for me. Praying to gods, they will take care of you two."
That was voice's last words, before it disappeared.
"I highly doubt that." Percy said.
He turned his gaze to Annabeth, again.
Everything can go and screw itself.
Their love was stronger than everything.
So, I believe that the voice was Sisyphus, and he was watching, observing them, and he's talking to Percy.
I think that would be a possible conservation in "The House of Hades", or I'm just being paranoid. Probably the second one.
I would be glad, if I'd got some reviews, do please, just write something down there. Please?
I hope you liked it.
