A/n: A little thing that i wrote when i was fourteen. It's been hanging around in one of my books for five years now.
Lamented
Thunderous clouds gathered in the sky above a dark ship sailing home. Its sails billowed in the strong wind, coming from the west. On deck a twenty eight strong crew stood at ease, some playing wizard's chess but most playing a betting game involving a box of Bertie Bott's every flavour beans.
To one side stood a brooding young man, he was leaning heavily on the handrail that ran round the entire ship, designed so that no-one would fall overboard. Well hopefully not anyway. A fur hat swung slowly in his calloused hands. He just couldn't understand what had happened these last few days.
"Are you ok Victor?" Ivan asked gently placing a well worn hand onto his shoulder. Victor tensed nobody understood him, only she did fully. He had left her behind how could he?
"I loved her. I truly and deeply loved her..." Victor mumbled as a hand flew up to his world famous face. Chocolate eyes become glassy and moist. A single tear fell onto the cold unforgiving deck of the Durmstrang ship. Ivan once again patted his long time friend on the shoulder, his own eyes misting slightly. He turned, knowing Victor was ,for now at least, a lost cause and walked away.
