Darren sat on the couch and stared at the two men before him, perplexed. They had the same face and hair and body type and voice and pretty much everything. They only differed in their clothing and, more importantly, their personalities. Chris, clad in a flannel plaid top from Darren and dark jeans, eyed his twin carefully. Kurt, in a blazer, scarf, and skinnies, shot Chris and Darren a look.
"What the hell?" Darren breathed, fingers curling into his own hair.
"I was just about to ask the same question," Kurt murmured, his stance softening now. Chris was speechless.
Darren sighed. "Tell me how this happened."
Chris blinked and recounted the tale of his shopping with Ashley, leaving to go to the restroom, and coming back to see her speaking to Kurt casually as he looked thoroughly confused. Kurt pursed his lips.
"There's gotta be some mix-up or something. I dunno. Maybe this is some superstitious shit?" Darren offered.
Kurt's eyes widened. "'Superstitious shit'? I'm right here! And I am in no way, shape, or form a product of some type of paranormal phenomena!" he exploded, fists curling into tight balls.
"Sorry, sorry!" Darren said, putting his hands up in a sign of truce.
Kurt cleared his throat and shook himself off. "Who even are you guys, anyway?" he asked.
"I'm Chris. Chris Colfer," Chris said awkwardly.
"Darren." The other man said, standing. Kurt sighed and introduced himself.
"Well...what should we do? Just...go about our daily lives with the knowledge that we have a twin all of a sudden?" Chris asked quietly after a few moments had passed.
"I suppose so. Although I doubt our parents have any idea. Something tells me your dad isn't Burt Hummel," Kurt replied. Chris's eyed bugged out and he shot Darren a look. Chris cleared his throat and forced a laugh.
"Uh...no. Sorry. My dad's Tim Colfer." The corners of Kurt's lips twitched up.
"Okay, hold on. So you guys apparently aren't related at all so far as you know, yet you're identical twins? Is anyone else shitting their pants here, or is it just me?" Darren said, panicking a little. Chris rolled his eyes.
"You'll have to excuse his French. Darren has a tendency of being wildly inappropriate." Kurt smiled and laughed lightly.
"Yeah. He's right, though. I doubt that this is some kind of normal occurrence," Kurt replied.
"No," Chris laughed, "probably not." Darren snickered. Kurt smiled at the two of them.
"So...are you two...together?" he asked curiously. Chris blushed a deep scarlet as Darren laughed and wrapped an arm around his waist. Kurt grinned. Chris smiled timidly back.
"D-do you have a...uh...?" Chris asked quietly. Kurt raised his eyebrows before understanding.
"Oh! Oh, yeah. Blaine. We flew in to LA together for a mini-vacation. He's probably wondering where I am..." Kurt murmured offhandedly, almost missing the look that passed between Chris and Darren. "What is that? That look?" Kurt asked.
"It's uh...it's nothing. Just getting used to all the...strangeness," Chris explained. Kurt shot them a curious look.
"I should probably get going," he sighed. Chris stirred.
"No! Hold on. Don't you think we should keep in touch? For…creepy twin purposes?" Chris added jokingly. Kurt giggled and gave him his number.
"See you later boys!" He called, striding out the door. Chris looked back at Darren before dragging him to the couch and collapsing on it, breathing a heavy sigh. What a day.
