Once there was a boy who dreamed,
He, like many, dreamed of becoming a hero,
One who could fight for good,
One that could save lives.
Soon, he became that hero,
Wielding a sword and shield,
He fought,
He fought for the future,
He fought for his friends,
He fought for love.
The future was bright,
His friends were alive,
But his love was gone.
Not dead but gone,
Gone to someone else.
His love betrayed him,
And slowly but surely so did his friends.
By now his future wasn't bright.
So when the monsters came,
He didn't fight back.
He laughed a bitter laugh,
And fell to the floor.
His sword was a killer,
His shield had betrayed him.
Cause after all he had done,
The boy who dreamed only had nightmares.
