King Candy grinned. He had won for the...

Okay, so he lost count after 255, but all in all, it was another victory for him. He turned around to gloat at the other racers...

And just realized why he was in first place. There was no one else behind him. Perhaps he'd gone too fast? King Candy checked the time. No, he was thirty seconds behind the previous track record, hardly anything to brag about. And speaking of bragging, he couldn't step onto the pedestal until the second and third place were filled up.

And so he waited.

And waited.

And thought that racing that Von Schweetz glitch would be more exciting than this.

And banished that thought from his memory banks.

Finally, King Candy saw two karts cross the finish line. He escorted them onto the pedestal, placing himself top and center as he began whispering to them. "Well, what took you so long?"

"Sorry, Your Majesty!" Rancis Fuggerbutter bowed. "Something happened to the girls. Gloyd wanted to revive the girls, but we had to depart since we were still on quarter time."

"At least I'm concerned." Gloyd Orangeboar argued. "They all crashed. Everyone was okay, but they had these dazed looks and they were bleeding from the nose."

King Candy blinked. "Bleeding noses? Oh, bleeding noses. Ah, that's just normal. Why, I remember when I caused a few nosebleeds back in the good old days..."

"Good old days? But you haven't been out since the game was plugged in." Gloyd pondered.

"Oh, just a pre-programmed backstory." King Candy hastily replied. "Anyway, game's over, so let's find out what happened to them."

The blonde looked over at his friend from the other seat of the Sugar Rush cabinet. "...Leave it to Ikuto to make even video games gush."

((Acchi Kocchi for the win!))
