Germany was exploring some of Australia's suburbs. He met a few of them and they seemed like friendly people but they all seemed to bag out a few of their neighbours. They all seemed to target one suburb the most which was called 'Windale'. They all said that she took drugs and committed crimes. Out of curiosity, Germany decided he'd like to see for himself how bad Windale was.
When arriving at Windale, he noticed the place did seem a little poor but it wasn't that bad. There was grass between the cracks, graffiti here and there, some unappealing houses, people tended to where hoodies, tracksuits and ugg-boots (A/N: I'm not sure if that's spelt correctly but in Australia they're called uggies. I can't translate it into American :p ) or thongs (A/N: that's what we call flip-flops in Australia. I will use a lot of Australian words in this story because I am Australian, but I will tell you what it all means, don't worry. Sorry for the A/Ns). There were barely any children around, probably at school but he did notice one girl in her high school uniform with scars all over her face as if she'd been stabbing it. He also got a familiar wave of emotion nations tended to get when they met leaders of countries such as presidents. It was quite strange due to her being so young.
"Um, excuse me little girl" he called her.
She looked to him with a very anxious look, like she was scared of him "yes?" she mumbled just enough so he could hear.
"You don't happen to be a leader of a country by any chance?" he asked.
She seemed shocked and flustered. It was hard for her to talk to him "how'd you know?"
Germany was really surprised at her reply. How was a teenager a leader of a country? She seemed harmless and trustworthy so he decided to be honest with her. "You see, I am a country myself. When a country meets a person who is significant to a nation, we get a special wave of emotion. The emotional wave of a leader is a little different to other significant people and that's how I could tell." He explained.
She stared at him, not knowing whether to leave or stay. She remained silent for a moment before speaking up "What?" she said anxiously, making patterned strokes on her fingertips.
Realising he was freaking her out he tried to say it in a less confusing way "I know you're the leader of a nation, do you mind telling me which nation? And what are you doing with your fingers?"
"I have social anxiety and do this when I stress, it's a weird habit…" she admitted "I'm a micronationalist. I merely represent my nation Athela as it's an anarchy and has no government. I technically rule it though since I'm the only citizen." She smiled nervously, trying to hide the small grin.
"I see… do you mind telling me more about it later since you're going to be late to school? Here's my number if you want to text me in your breaks" he held out a piece of paper it numbers written neatly in a line.
"Okay…" she said, taking the paper awkwardly "Bye…"
She walked away from Germany, putting her earphones in to listen to music. Germany had also walked away, continuing his exploration when he felt a buzz in his pocket. He reached in and grabbed his phone out. He had gotten a text.
"-So which country are you?-" it read, obviously from the girl.
He texted back his name "-Germany-"
A/N: OKAY! This is part one of the prologue, I will post the rest soon. The prologue will just be how Athela first met the other nations, then I will time skip to another part of the story in a time where she is older. She is based off the Australian micronation of which I know the founder and Representess personally. You can ask questions about her if you like, she does deserve some popularity Sorry the chapter is so short, I'll make it up with a good story.
