Hermione's PoV
It was nice to have Rose back home for Christmas holidays. I worried that she would love Hogwarts and its library too much to leave. I missed her dearly, and was glad that I had both of my precious children to spend this Christmas with. Not to mention my wonderful husband, Ron.
I watched as Hugo kept pestering his sister about what it was like going to Hogwarts. Rose had no problem answering his many questions.
"Oh it's absolutely wonderful!" I heard her say. I smiled at that. When I was her age, I had the same feelings about the wizarding school. That was one of the many things Rose had inherited from me. Even though she had her fathers flaming red hair and gorgeous blue eyes, she had my brains, and my love for books. Hugo, along with his looks, had more of Ron's personality, and his emotional range of a teaspoon. I chuckled inwardly at the statement that I had said to Ronald, all those many years ago in our 5th Year in the Gryffindor common room.
I picked up my tea from the table and walked over to the sofa and took a seat next to my husband. He put his arm around my shoulders and flashed me his crooked grin that I loved. I snuggled into his arms and laid my head onto his chest while watching our children talk and organize the gifts that were under the tree.
"Happy Christmas 'Mione," I heard him say through my bushy brown hair.
"Happy Christmas Ronald," I replied, and gave him a brief kiss on the lips.
"Mum! Dad! Can we open presents yet?" Hugo yelled from his spot near the tree. Next to him, Rose was waiting eagerly as well.
I chuckled and got up from the sofa, and Ron followed me to where our children were sitting. I sat cross legged next to our daughter while Ron sat next to our son, and started passing gifts around.
About a half-hour later, we were all sitting down on the sofa drinking warm butterbeer and trading chocolate frog cards when Rose jumped up from her spot.
"Oh! Mum! I have something for you!" She went to her room and came back shortly with a piece of paper in her hands. I looked at the paper and back up at Rose with a curious look on my face.
"What is it Rosie?"
She took a deep breath and continued, "During one of my lessons, we learned about muggle-borns, and ummm, the not-so-nice word about them," she looked me in the eyes, with tears in her own, and I felt like I should go up to her and engulf her in my arms. "After we went back to our dormitories I couldn't stop thinking about you, Mum, and- and your scar," Rose stuttered.
Absentmindedly, I started stroking the words that Bellatrix had carved on my arm through my long sleeved shirt, and I felt Ron tighten his arm around my waist.
"I wrote you what I think MY definition of a Mudblood is," She whispered the last word. "I mean, that's only if you want to hear it. I don't want to spoil the spirit of Christmas or anything, and bring up the past-"
"No, Rosie. I want to hear it," I told her with a smile on my face. Ron, Hugo, and myself sat at the edge of the sofa waiting for Rose to begin.
A/N: Chapter 1! What do you think? There is going to be about 10 chapters total. As you can see, I chose to put in the mudblood scar from the movie. It was a hard decision if I should follow the books or movies, so I decided, why not both? Please review!
