'Sasuke may be cold blooded,' Naruto once thought. He actually vocalized the thought in a crude manner and had been mocked by Sakura because "all mammals are warm-blooded and all humans are mammals."
But he still thought it.
There had to be an explanation for why Sasuke's body kept so cool: below most people's heat, far below Naruto's.
Naruto wasn't used to touching people, but he knew the feel of heat off other's while training and he knew Sasuke's body while training.
And sometimes they would have to huddle together in a tree during a night mission.
Naruto secretly loved how cool Sasuke's body was. It was like the underside of a pillow. Naruto himself was always slightly hotter than most people. Tsunade said it was because of the demon's influence. He hated how much of himself had been shaped by Kyuubi.
But he loved the feel of Sasuke's skin on his own. Even though it made him
shiver.
Sometimes he wondered if Sasuke noticed any of this. But he decided that he couldn't have. There was no way he would let Naruto sit so close to him otherwise...
'Naruto must be made of fire,' Sasuke had once decided, though he never vocalized his theory. He must be because heat seemed to roll off him in waves, and it wasn't the unpleasant heat of post-work-out either. The warmth was always there, like a warm fire in the winter.
Sasuke found himself drawn to it, wanting to bask in its glow. His family had always specialized in fire jutsus. Fire was given a great amount of respect from the Uchihas. So Sasuke found it completely normal that he was so drawn to the living flame that was Naruto.
He seemed to warm Sasuke, drawing away the cold that never seemed to leave him.
Sometimes they would position themselves next to each other at night during missions, and Sasuke could enjoy the warmth all night.
His only worry was that the idiot would notice how close he would put himself, notice the heavy way being so close made Sasuke breath...but Naruto hadn't so it was ok.
He sometimes thought he felt Naruto shiver, but he regretted the thought. Why would a flame shiver?
