"Will you be there when I die?" She stared at the ground. The hooded-man glared her way, surprised by the way she broke the silence.
"I.." The air was still, like how the way Talon's thoughts stopped from her words.
"Will you?" The redhead sounded calm, though troubled.
"I'll always be there for you, Katarina. You know that." He said this so caring. By the time he said this, her face was already flushing red, tears starting to form. She looked up, and the side of her face was now shown.
"..Yeah," she said, faint. Talon could see her beautiful, wonderful smile, unlike the usual smirks she gave. Finally facing him, the tear that she shed was bare. Seeing her come closer, she pulled him near, wrapping her arms around his waist, her head on his chest. He shared the embrace, knowing she had a lot on her mind.
"What's wrong?" Katarina hardly ever cried, the last time was when her father died, and others before were when she had sister problems.
"The only reason why I was strong is that you were the only one who cared..!" She held him tighter, her fingers digging through his cloak.
"I don't know what I would do without you.. With mom.. and dad already gone, I've only got the two of you left.. But who's going to care about me after you? What will I do? Who's going to understand like you do?" Talon pushed her back gently so he could see her face. Brushing the hair covering her face away, he stared at her beautiful, emerald eyes, stained red from the tears she still cried. He was speechless, finally seeing the beauty this close, saying the things she said. Realizing she was leaning in, he was surprised, but let her. His eyes slowly closed. The kiss was small, on the lips. She backed away, unsure how he would react.. With a sincere smile on his face he went back to his gaze, and held onto her soft hands.
"You know, I'm not going to die anytime soon. Don't think about it..." He said, lamely. Looking away, his grin fading, Talon couldn't bring himself to say what he really wanted to. He didn't know if she liked him as a friend, loved him as a brother, or what he wanted her to feel about him, even after the kiss. Her tears were drying slowly. She was grateful for him, even if all of her fantasies wouldn't come true. Talon's eyes close once again, finding the words to say to her.. Now looking deeper than before, he saw her satisfied face. With his own now full of worry, he wondered how she would react if he said what he felt. All he could think of were the cons. She was his life. This was his time. He felt his emotions burning his heart.
"Katarina." Talon's voice was bold.
"..Yeah?" her smile faded like his. Swiftly walking forward and guiding her to a nearby brick wall, he cornered her. Staring deep into her eyes he tried to find the answer to the question that was broiling through his skin. There was no sadness, no fear, to the way she looked. Katarina was blank and content, just staring back.
"How do you.." A bit of confusion and discomfort shined through her skin.
"Huh...?" She's never seen so much concern in his manner.
"How do you feel?"
(THIS IS WHAT MY FRIEND WROTE FOR ENDING! THANK YOU KALIA!)
"I feel like I'm falling, but only thing keeping me sane, and safe... Is you... I love you Talon," as she said it he knew it was true. He brushed a the remaining tear off her face with his thumb.
"I love you too, for as long as I've known you," He said, slowly leaning in to kiss her..
