Within the dimly lit interior of the fortified desert structure, not one soul was stirring. Only the harmonious electronic humming gave any indication of activity.
Then, five bursts of multi colored energy shot down from above and as the streaks landed, five teenagers materialized from them
"Welcome Rangers" said the functioning and frisky automaton Alpha Five.
"Alright, I'm in charge here" bellowed a looming voice as the image of a slack jawed bald-headed and sourly expresive gentleman lit up the room.
"Monkfish, we got your message" Jason uttered.
"Yeah Rangers, it's a matter of the utmost urgency, I need someone to keep my Zord seats warm. Get down to the launch bay and saddle up, nice and toasty like, and no listening to BBC Radio 1. Can't stand that Grimshaw tosser"
"Great, another meaningless task" remarked Kimberly, the fiestiest of the Ranger fatales "Just as my mom was about to get my progress report"
"Kimberly, I know this must be a case of poor timing where you're concerned, so put your knickers on and go make me a cup of tea, or you'll find there's the word mean in meaningful" snapped Monkfish.
"Monkfish, we really need to pull our resources, Rita's latest attack has leveled half the city" the brainiac Billy spoke out of concern
"You think I don't know that four eyes? Go and give the Triceratops Zord a spit and a polish, just try not to actually spit on it or I'll have you for breakfast. Get a move on, GO ON"
Billy sighed and sulked off.
"Man, I knew my birthday could'nt go smoothly" replied Zack
"Aw, I'm sorry to hear that Zachery, but I've got an idea, you can cheer me up with that hip hop kidney dancing you do, bust a move daddy"
"It's hip hop KIDDO, not Kidney man, you tripping or something?" said Zack.
"Trip up with that lip one more time Mister and you'll be the one falling well out of favor, now dance for my pleasure"
That left only Trini, who chose to keep quiet.
"The strong silent type, seen but not heard, my kind of Ranger. Alpha, get this charmer a soothing cup of tea, two sugars"
"A pity, I thought Trini would have taught me the way of the mantis if she had a bit more confidence" said Alpha.
"The world is turning, but you ain't ever learning robot, yours is the way of the Cockroach that's the way I treat everyone around here. Now go make sure Jason is pulling his weight on the T-Rex's seat and not any weights lying around. GO ON"
