Introduction
The train rumbled gently along the tracks, the vibrations soothing to Ciel as he absent-mindedly watched the landscape go by. He watched the rolling hills and vibrant groves turn to farmland, and soon would watch the farmland turn to cityscape as they neared London. For now Ciel just relaxed, forgetting his troubles for the ride.
Sebastian noticed the lines in Ciel's face disappear, his features smoothing into an expression of peace. He saw the child in Ciel, the hardships and responsibilities forgotten for a bit. Sebastian didn't like to admit it fascinated him. It was pleasing to see Ciel look so pure again. He sometimes worried Ciel would become too corrupted for his purposes. In the early evening sunlight Ciel looked positively innocent, albeit tired.
Sebastian watched silently as young boy closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, lips parting slightly as he breathed, gentle and sweet. Sebastian caught himself smiling as he thumbed through a contact book of hotels near the train station in London.
