[ Author's Notes ]:

I really wanted to do this for awhile, and the idea wouldn't leave me until I write it;v; This is my attempt to do a "fix-it" sort of thing. So expect AUs and dark aspects in this. There will also be reference to the other Devilman manga, especially Devilman Lady.

Also as for the relationships. I will confirm there will be Kagome x Akira in this, and along with Kagome x Ryo (maybe slight). However, I am not sure if Ryo and Akira are going to be official (the those two together), but I will implied their relationship (or mainly Ryo's feelings for Akira). Also depending on the plot there might be a poly-relationship. You know Akira, Kagome, and Ryo are all together. So who knows. Just keep an open mind until then XD

"Akira."

Brown tear struck eyes turn to stared at her with a sadden child expression. It easily made her heart go out to him every time she would see such a sorrowful look on his face. Unlike most of the other children that found Akira annoying, especially when he display such a face out in the open. They weren't like her that were moved by his kind heart, or empathy for others.

The 'crybaby' they would call him.

'Heartless brats' Kagome annoying thought, before reaching out to wrap her arms around his tiny frame that match her own.

"Why are you crying?"

She knew the reason.

It was so obvious from the parked vehicle outside. It's being stuffed with luggage that both of them have grown so familiar with.

And yet, she had to naively asked such an knowing question.

"B-Because..." His gentle hands return her hug back. He cried even more as he begun to explain. "Because Ryo is leaving..."

His face bury into her shoulder. Kagome grimace at the wet feeling from his tears and snot that follow soon after. She said nothing.

She did nothing.

She just let him continue to vent to her, despite knowing what he'll say.

"I-I'm happy he found a home, but I'm g-going to miss him... I don't want him to leave..."

Children's laughter roar from behind them. It was as if they were trying to block the sad departure that is going to occur. Then again, they've always tried to ignore Ryo from everyone else, despite Akira and her's efforts to helped their blonde friend to mingle with the others.

He is the outcast of the group.

He's weird.

He's creepy.

He's... different.

For that, they despised him. Not giving him a chance like Akira... and her...

"...Me too." Kagome almost seem hesitant to say. It was not like she wasn't going to miss Ryo, but the fact she is going to miss him. That is why it was hard for her to say that, especially to Akira of all people. She won't deny that she cares for Ryo, more than she believed she would. If this continues, he might even become important to her just as he is to Akira.

... and that scares her more than anything...

She had a feeling this was going to happen. She was sent here at young age. Nowhere near the year where things go down-hill. She should have asked to start a little later instead of this soon.

She didn't want to be attach to Ryo, or even Akira. It would make it harder for her when she leaves. Most of all, it's going to be painful when the times come for him. She don't want to imagine the expression on his face when it does.

It's not fair.

Akira doesn't deserve this.

All these lies that are being told to him.

He deserved better.

He deserved the truth.

"Not yet... He's not ready..."

Kagome could hear that person tell her that. She wanted to scoff, break this persona of hers, but they are right. He is not ready. He isn't, but that doesn't mean she won't necessary do everything that's been said in the deal.

If she is going change this world, then it's going to be by her way.

"... but you know, Akira... This isn't a goodbye."

"Huh?"

"It's not a goodbye. Just... a farewell for now." Kagome reminded him, even herself, that it's not a goodbye. She pulled away, showing their similar height, before she gives a small smile. Hoping to ease the sorrow look on his face. "We'll see him again. Maybe not soon, but one day we will. When we do, the three of us will go to the cliff again."

'...The three of us... Ryo, Akira, and me...'

How odd for her to say... but those times together weren't bad.

She was rather fond of them actually...

"Don't forget about Miki." Akira responded, wiping his remaining tears away with a return smile. "It won't be fun if it just the three of us. Four means there is no third wheel!"

"Yeah, you're right." Kagome laugh softly.

Of course, she can never forget about her, considering the blood relations she has with her in this place. Then again, 'bonds between relatives aren't always strong. They can be easily broken like many others.' as Ryo once said to her about the brown-haired female.

"Hopefully when Ryo comes back. He might start to like my sister."

That's highly unlikely, despite the gleaming hope in Akira's eyes from her words.

There is no way that Ryo would never stop treating Miki coldly like the others. As long as Akira continues to see her in that way. Ryo would never change his perspective on her.

That is one of the things she might not be able to change here.

After all, jealousy is something she's too familiar with...
