A/N: So today I was looking over some of my old stories and realized that I had written my version of Audrey Weasley (Percy's eventual wife) as a Ravenclaw a year ahead of the trio. And then I realized that she would've been with Cho Chang and her gang, so this just sort of came to mind. it's just a little oneshot that I had fun writing. Enjoy!
Audrey Taylor was not usually girly, but sometimes a girl just can't help herself. The Yule Ball was fast approaching, and the fifth year Ravenclaw couldn't help but giggle along with her friends Marietta Edgecombe and Cho Chang. There weren't many opportunities like the Yule Ball at Hogwarts, and they were all getting as much out of the experience as possible. Marietta was lucky enough to have a date already, but Audrey and Cho were still without and were discussing possible choices before all the boys were taken.
"Isn't Diggory just so fit?" said Marietta with a sigh. Audrey, Marietta, and Cho spared a glance over at the Hufflepuff table for a moment, and then burst into giggles again.
"I heard he likes you, Cho," Audrey winked and nudged her friend's shoulder.
"Oh come on." The young girl blushed but still turned around for another glimpse at the seventh year.
"Well that means that two champions fancy her," Marietta said with a laugh, "because I heard that Harry Potter likes you too." Cho looked positively red at this.
"That's definitely true," Audrey replied. "Every time he sees you, he looks like he's about to ask you to the ball, but he can't get up the nerve." The three dissolved into another fit of giggles at this, remembering some of the Boy Who Lived failed attempts at talking to Cho.
"He is cute," Cho conceded (Marietta added "and famous"). She suddenly looked excited. "What if he does ask me? Then you," she indicated Audrey, "can go with his friend, Ron Weasley. It would be like a double date!" Now it was Audrey's turn to look like a tomato.
"I dunno know," she said, daring to raise in her seat a little bit to get a glimpse of the Weasley in question. "I guess he's not that bad, though the twins are better looking, in my opinion. It would be so uncomfortable though. I've never even spoken two words to the boy!"
"I wouldn't worry too much, Audrey," Marietta replied. "I doubt Harry will ever be able to face Cho, he always looks so scared when he gets within a few meters of you."
"Well then, looks like I've lost my only chance at a Weasley!" The three giggled for something like the millionth time that week, and moved onto the subject of dress robes and hairstyles.
