Hello, Do You Miss Me?

It started with a hug…
Dean was in shock.
He didn't know to react to his brother hugging him.
A million other thoughts were running through his mind.
His brother wasn't lying in a bed anymore.
Sammy wasn't some drooling mess on the floor.
He felt like Sam.
If he thought back when he first saw Sam…when he hugged him, it felt cold.
Like he was doing it out of reflex or something shit like that.
No, his brother was currently trying to hugging him to death. It felt warm. It felt familiar.
If he cried inside a little, no one knew but him.
It started with food…a lot of it.
Sam could never imagine that Hell would make him so hungry.
It was strange that he doesn't remember Hell. Unease feeling slowly creep up his back. Maybe, it will come back slowly like it did with his brother.
He wasn't looking forward to that.
He frowned slightly at the sandwich.
He had to ask. He just had too. He had a feeling that he might not like the answer. The words stumbled out of his mouth.
Dean gave him that look. He knew that look. It was the look that he used when he got caught driving the Impala without Dad's permission.
Then he started talking.
He made a deal….a deal with Death. Was he fucking crazy?
Dean kept saying that it is alright but he knew better.
No deal without its consequences.
Even if he did get to see his brother alive and well…
It started with a case.
He wanted Sam to stay at Bobby's.
The damn kid could barely keep his eyes open…much less hunt.
He almost fell face first into his bowl of cereal.
Normally, he would laugh at his brother and probably take pictures.
But he was too damn worried about him. This Sleeping Beauty act scared the crap out of him. He had to make sure that Bobby's couch or the bed was ready in a moment's notice.
A part of him knew that he was just catching up on sleep.
The big brother part of him told him otherwise.
That is the same reason why he said yes.
Damn kick puppy dog look.
God, he missed that look.
It started with a joke…a very bad one.
He shook his head as he opened the passenger side door.
His brother's jokes are so corny.
Sometimes, he thought that he did it on purpose. Just lower the tension or the stress of a situation.
It was just so Dean.
He forced himself not to smile more.
It started with a sword.
Sammy would get a kick of this.
He would totally get geeky over the sword. Hell, he was getting a little geeky about it.
He was going to recreate a classic scene until the damn thing refused to come out.
Well…time for Plan B.
King Arthur got nothing on explosives.
It started with dragons…hell…dragons.
They were hurting dragons.
Seriously?
It took him awhile for his mind to wrap around it.
Because…dragons. They weren't from the Pern series or the Lord of the Rings type either.
Dean would complain that he was so geeky for reading those books.
His eyes drifted from the computer to the map.
Perhaps, he should call Bobby.
But Bobby has been acting…strange around him.
He couldn't pin point the reason either and it bothered him.
He reached over and picked up the phone.
It ended with the truth.
One look at his brother's face, he knew. He just knew.
The secret was out.
End
