I remembered how annoyed I was when I couldn't find you in that world you called "Atlantica". I remember my immense amusement and surprise when you showed up, a dolphin waist down. You pouted at me for refusing to join you and your friends underwater. I'd laughed, saying if you kept doing that, your face would get stuck that way. Not that I mind. Your reaction was to grin at me, and say, "Yeah right!" I love it when you smile.
You sat beside me on the beach, and chided me that if you got sunburn, it would be entirely my fault, because I didn't want to go underwater with you. I'd poked you gently in the side, saying that you wouldn't get sunburn, simply because you were so thick-skinned. Your reply to my remark was to smack me on the shoulder, squealing, "What's that supposed to mean, Riku!" I said nothing, but I just leaned closer to you, hand tilting your chin up to look at your brilliant sapphire eyes. "R-Riku?" you said quietly.
Those same eyes closed when my lips met yours, and you leaned into the kiss. When I pulled away, I laughed gently. "Your face is red, like a tomato," I grinned. Your eyes widened as you punched me playfully. "Y-you're the one who made it red! Meanie!" I only laughed all the more and you blushed even redder. "Aww, did I upset you?" I chuckled, gathering you into my arms. "You're mean," you said, nuzzling into me and not meaning it.
It was well into night, and you were tired. You had curled up beside me, resting that head full of soft cocoa locks in my lap and your arms around my middle. You purred like a large cat when I stroked your hair.
"Riku?"
"Hmm?"
"I love you, you meanie."
"Love you, too."
