Cold…. He felt cold…why was it so cold?

"because you are dieing" the part of his mind that was still working supplied.

No, he couldn't be dieing. He hadn't been in a battle, he hadn't even been outside of the city him and his team were using as a base.

Sasuke shook his head. This wasn't dieing, he knew that much.

"but its not living either" he frowned at the voice in his head, not because it was wrong, but because it was true.

Ever since he had obtained revenge he had stopped living. He was merely alive, simply going through the motions of living. He ate, he slept, he trained, but he was never really there. He was empty.

Sasuke remembered that once, during his training with Kakashi. The older shinobi had told him that they were alike, being who he was, he rejected the idea immediately. But Kakashi had briefly explained his past. Sasuke, at the time, had been shocked at how the man had been able to carry on living after going thought that. Now he knew… he didn't. Sasuke had also came to the conclusion that Kakashi was a good actor, better that he will ever be.

His team knew that something was wrong, they tried to hide it but he saw it all. The worried glances from Juugo, the stupid fights that suigetsu would pick with him to get him to do anything and the help that Karin would give him when he couldn't find something, not because he misplaced it, because his eyesight was leaving and his world was nearly completely black.

Even though he never said thank you, his team knew that he was truly grateful for their help, even suggests, especially suigetsu's. Sasuke had always wondered why Kakashi had kept accepting those ridiculous challenges from Gai, and know he knew.

They made him feel alive, like he wasn't alone.
