The Fiends of Infatuation… Chapter One
The expressionless façade fell as he said these words- Bella, we're leaving. Suddenly he appeared desperate before me. All today's actions could be excused by that one look; defying the nagging voice of reason. After all, how could a weak defenseless human ever help such a perfect immortal? Facing my Botticelli Angel I replicated his hopeless expression.
My battered arm reached for his hand. Edward cowered away from the stained bandages as if they had the plague. But I understood him all too well; he couldn't suffer what he though he was to blame for.
"It's okay," I assured him, feeling the first tears form at my eyelids.
Edward was instantly at my side brushing away the tears. I pushed his fingers away and fell into his cool embrace, sobbing heavily at everything. If we were simple mortals… then again, we wouldn't be together under those circumstances either. No matter our faults: his selflessness and my danger-prone tendency: I wouldn't change a thing.
"Bella, love, how can I ever convince you to forgive me?" he cooed
I shook my head on his chest. "There's nothing to forgive. What happened to my arm was nobody's fault- it was an accident.
"Just promise me, wherever you go, that you will never forget me."
He pulled away, much to the affliction of my breaking heart. "You think I would leave without you?" he said incredulously.
"After all the trouble I cause your family… yes, I do."
Getting down on one knee, like he was going to propose, his lips parted, saying: "Bella, we would do anything for you, so it's no trouble to us. But I thought after what you had to endure yesterday…" he rubbed my hurt arm pointedly. "I didn't think you would come with me when I asked."
His light honey-colored irises overflowed with love, which I'm sure he could see erupting from me.
"Are you asking?"
A glorious smile lit his expertly sculpted lips.
"My dearest Isabella, I know I cannot offer you a normal human life; I know you'll be loosing more than you'd be gaining in this bargain. But, please consider running away with me."
"Oh, Edward," I couldn't help but sigh. "The only think I have to loose is you. Where you go, I will follow." And he ended my speech with the tender'est of all kisses.

We were the force behind the wind causing the leave to rustle in the turmoil of air we stirred about- the only evidence as to our being there. Second after us I heard the chatter of dead leaves kick up. But those second seemed too slow compared to Edward's fervent speed.
Meanwhile, I nestled my head between the shoulder blades on his back. As well as squinting so I would get caught up with motion sickness; like my first experience riding on the back of my superbly handsome vampire.
No longer would we see our meadow, aside for the brief glimpse of its grassy elliptical shape before that too melted away from sight. And I would clamp my eyes shut again.
The police chief of Forks would know soon that his daughter was gone, only to find that the culprits, too, have vanished. The room with the rocking chair and the wire staple to the floor was no longer my room. The bed sheets were neatly made this morning and clothes tucked away. There is nothing more than a weathered book on the nightstand to prove that Isabella Swan ever existed in Forks.
