When she was three, Anko's best friend was named Swift. He was the strongest and most noble bird in the world with feathers in all shades of green and orange, and if other people could have seen him, he would have been quite popular. Anko wanted him to stay forever, but snakes eat birds, so she had to let him go.
At five years old, Anko met a little boy named Hatake Kakashi. She heard people whisper that he was a genius and wandered over, curious. His eyes looked so distant and sad, she ran all the way home to her mother.
Anko doesn't like sweet red beans. Anko doesn't like sweets at all. She prefers her food salty, spicy, or fried.

Despite popular opinion, Anko's first crush was not on Morino Ibiki or Orochimaru, but one Umino Iruka. The older boy had been nice and funny, even letting her help with a prank or two. Besides which, Anko's always had a soft spot for really nice boys, just like her mother.
Anko likes to wear pink panties. They make her feel pretty. She also likes dark chocolate, beer, and salt and vinegar chips, preferably all mixed together. That's what she was eating when she first met Lee.
The first time Anko saw Lee, she thought he was a really weird kid, but secretly liked his suit. She'd met Gai, of course, but he was much too tiring. Lee, on the other hand, was exhausting in the right ways, straight, and completely willing to be led by someone he admires.
