The music plays, and the two sit oblivious to what is going on. Her, with her head in her hands, staring grouchily out at the dancing couples. Him, looking at her with sadness on his face, wishing he could be with her. But she is with another boy; one he thought was his friend.

She isn't happy. He needs to make her happy; he needs to see a smile light up her pretty face. He can't get over the way her hair falls in ringlets, how brown her eyes seem tonight. She'd laugh at him, though, if she knew that he was his image of the ultimate beauty. He wishes that he was that boy. If he were that boy, she'd be happy.

Despite his better judgment, he rises. He walks toward her, a small smile on his face. It's not unusual, though, a smile always graces his features. He extends a hand to her, and it takes her a moment to realize what's happening. "Seamus?" Her voice is soft, heavenly.

Inwardly he praises the anything and everything for blessing the world by giving it this angel. "Would you like to dance with me?" He asks, and she nods.

The boy she's sitting with looks up briefly, scowls, and looks back down at his hands. She rises, and places a hand in his. Together, they began to dance. Neither of them dances that well, but together; they glide across the dance floor, oblivious to the other couples. He manages to dance without stepping on her feet. When the song finishes, he returns her to her partner, sad that their moment is over.

She shakes her head, and they exit the hall, walking down to the lake. They converse, of trivial things, the upcoming Quidditch match, his Graduation, the weather, how he will miss her, a great friend when he leaves and she has a year left. Suddenly, he stops her.

She looks up at him, confusion on her face. He takes this opportunity to lift her face to his and place a gentle kiss on her lips. He pulls away, and whispers, "I love you Ginny,"

She places a finger on her lips, as if to keep the memory, the imprint of the fleeting kiss there, and looks at him for a moment, breathless. She had not expected this, but she places a hand on his shoulder. "I love you too," It is all she can do to muster these words.

A shared smile can be found on their faces, when they return to the hall, and the memory of two simple sentences etch happiness into their hearts.
