The Yearly 365 Challenge

Prompt #10 (Location) Fox Forest

"What are you doing here?" He hissed low as he pulled her arm around the corner. Not realizing how tightly his hold on her arm was.

"I got a lead." She spoke in a low voice. "I'm following it of course."

His eyes slanted. "Why are you here alone?" His gripe tightened.

"Whom says that I am alone?" She answered in a calm voice.

"Betty ..." Kevin spoke in a low voice.

Betty sighed. "Everyone is busy right now. Sides it's the middle of the day. What can happen with the sun over head. There are plenty of people here. Quite a few that I know that would protect me if need be."

"You shouldn't have come." Kevin shook his head. "You shouldn't have come. You have no idea what Fox Forest is truly about."

"Your hand is hurting my arm." Betty answered.

"I'll lesson my hold on you;" as he did so; "but there is now way in hell that I'm letting go. Not until I get you out of here."

"But my lead." She stubbornly spoke.

Kevin sighed. "Fine we'll find your lead. Then we are leaving."

Betty tilted her head to the alley way towards the street once more.
