Destiny...?
Usagi touched her cheek gingerly. 'Another bruise!' She thought. 'Why does Mamo-chan always hurt me?' She knew he had to love her, because they were destined to be. 'But I don't understand!'
Makoto's POV
Usagi-chan's got another bruise. Her makeup's good, it just doesn't quite hide it. She never complains or tells us why she has the bruises. She obviously doesn't want us to notice. I try my best to cheer her up, but that's more Minako-chan's department. When Mamoru-san's around, she's a bit cheerier, but also more tense. I wonder what's going on. She never * really * smiles anymore.
Ami's POV
She's depressed again. She laughs, she smiles, but her eyes are just so sad. I wonder what's wrong. So I tried asking her. She just smiled at me and said "Nothing!" then looked away. Ano...I see a bruise on her cheek. It's light...like she put makeup over it. She did! But she hasn't said anything about it. I wish I could tell what secret she's hiding.
Minako's POV
Well, this is not good. Everyone's looking at Usagi, and wondering the same thing. What's going on?? But we can't ask her. She's our best friend. If she doesn't want to tell us, she won't. So I'll try to cheer her up! But how? She won't run around with me, can't check out boys, after all, she's got Mamoru. Maybe she'll want to go to a movie later. I'll ask her in a bit, when everyone stops staring.
Rei's POV
I think Usagi's scared. Ano, I know she's scared. I know why, because I followed her once. But she doesn't know...yet. I hid behind plants and boxes and other people. I saw Mamoru-san did, and listened to what he said. He keeps telling her what's wrong with her. He keeps yelling at her. And hitting her. I don't know what to do! She acts so strong...she won't tell us. I know that. She thinks that she and Mamoru-san are "destined to be". Oh Kami-sama, why her? She's going to let him continue on. She's sacrificing herself for the future we visited.
Usagi's POV
Rei sat down beside me. Makoto said said something about making food, and Ami's reading. Minako went to tease Yuurichiru (sp?) or something...where did that girl go? Hmm...
I think Rei suspects what's going on with Mamo-chan and I. She's just watching me. I don't know what to say to her, though. Rei reaches over and takes my hand. "I'm sorry your destiny is this way." She says quietly. She DOES know! But she won't tell the others. Maybe I can talk to her sometimes, when everything gets too much for me. I smile a bit and squeeze her hand.
Ami's POV
I don't think they knew I was listening. What about her destiny? I'm going to get to the bottom of this, Usagi-chan!
Makoto's POV
"sorry...destiny...this way" is all I heard. What is going on?!?! Rei looks so sad, and resigned. I'm going to figure out what's going on. Usagi-chan is my best friend!
