Everything seemed perfect. The dyed-black rose petals scattered all over the cold stone floor, the faded red carpet that oddly enough reminded him of dried blood… Most of all, he loved that all eyes were on one person alone: him.

No, it did not matter that a good ninety-nine percent of the gazes he received consisted mostly of a mixed concoction of hatred and lust for retribution; he was rather used to such glares since his first year in Hogwarts, perhaps even before that.

But as he stood in the arched doorway that welcomed him to his punishment, all that mattered to him now than keeping his clothes immaculate was the lone weeping gaze of one Harry Potter, immortalised in all his brilliant-eyed, messy-haired glory through a beautiful water-coloured painting.

He paused from his appreciation of the morbid and stared back at the Avada Kedavra-coloured eyes that looked at him from the very end of the semi-dank room…

Ironic how he ended up taking the life of the one person he loathed and later on wanted more than anything and everything else in order to save him from the much crueller fate of living through the end of the war.

"But now's not exactly the best time to mull over such things now, is it?"

He quietly sighed as he walked, not sauntered, over to what would seem like a bed of stone on the centre of the room. There he lay himself down, and dared not cross his arms over his chest like the Undead. Instead, he folded his hands over his stomach, and casting one final glance at the painting, closed his eyes with a small genuine smile lightly grazing his cold features.

No, certainly not.

Not when your life is about to end, sealed with a kiss.
