Note: I don't own the demigods, CHB, Shadowhunters, or the NY Institute. Okay, before all you people come running with questions, the main cast for TMI, their generation is switched with the TDA generation. So the TDA guys are older than the TMI guys.
My name is Jade Blackthorn. Currently, I'm sixteen, and protect the human race. My father Julian would tell me stories. Stories of monsters, demons, and those who protected us, the humans, from them. I thought he invented them, but I was wrong. This is the story of me.
It was just another day at Yancy Academy. My roommate, Clary Fray, was charged with the task of waking me up today, on the last day of school.
"Jade. Jade! You have to get up!" Clary sighed, but went to Plan B. She pulled the pillow out from under my head, and my blanket off my body. I rubbed my eyes and muttered.
"Ugh…..you couldn't have waited ten more minutes?" I asked, blearily looking at her through one eye.
"Dude, it's the last day of school. Bell would kill you if you slept in today."
"Ugh, screw Bell. She can suck it." Clary laughed, then composed herself.
"Whatever. Get ready, it's the last day of school. Then we can go back to New York for the summer." Clary happened to be my best friend, and lived next door to me in New York. I pulled out my usual, one of my many "book-nerd" shirts as Simon called them. Simon was another friend, and lived near Clary and us. It was white, and had a blue swing set on the top, and said "Maybe okay can be our always." It was a quote from one of the saddest books ever, The Fault In Our Stars. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans, and a pair of black converse. As a bonus, I finally found my favorite hoodie. A black zip-up from Simon 2 Christmases ago that had some sort of rune-language on it.
Clary threw my backpack at me, a midnight blue thing printed with stars and nebulas. For some reason, when I touched it, the stars seem to faintly glow. Clary quickly shoved her sketchbook into her backpack. It was teal with black, white, and hot pink paint splattered all over it. Once we were all packed, we went to class.
Because it was the last day of school, we told the class what we were going to do during the summer. While I told the class I was going to Europe during July, the kids in the back were discreetly looking at me. They were noticeable, one boy with golden hair, and luminous eyes to match. Jace Herondale. Then the next two, brother and sister, Alec and Isabelle Lightwood. Both had pale skin, and jet-black hair, but Alec had blue eyes while Isabelle had black ones. And lastly, there was Magnus Bane. He always sat in the corner seat, which sat shrouded in shadow. I could somehow feel his eyes on me, though I don't know how. But they seemed familiar. I don't know from where though.
And the boy I liked, Carter. He looked at me during the presentation, like he knew something about me that I didn't. He sat next to me, and I peeked sideways glances at him. There was something about him. Like a secret. But every now and then, he would look back at me, and the kids in the back.
"Okay, next up, Clary." Even though I finished, they were still staring at me. Class ended, and we had Gym next. When I scooped my backpack up, I realized that my black belt that I used to hold my weapons was cinched onto it. Huh? I left this at home. How'd it get here?
I didn't have much time to ponder about where it came from, as Carter and Clary dragged me to the locker rooms.
