Disclaimer: I don't own Alias… It's a nice wish, but unless JJ wants to sell the rights to me for counting 47 cents I won't ever own it.
Summary: What if Syd chose to tell Vaughn about being investigated. Sorry this is really old, but I just got it off my old computer.
"Hello?" He answers. This was probably a mistake. Why am I doing this? I should just hang up…
"Hi it's me," I say in my meek voice. What the hell am I doing? Didn't I just want to hang up?
"Syd are you okay? Is everything alright?" Vaughn's caring voice whispers through the phone, into my ear, and straight to my heart.
"Can you meet me at the pier?" I ask. Sometimes I do the stupidest things.
"Of course. I'll be there in 20 minutes," he said gently. I replaced the phone on the receiver shakily. I climb into my rain soaked SUV, and listen to the rain pitter-pat on the windshield. The pier isn't far from my apartment, but tonight it feels like eternity as the rain falls in dark harsh sheets. I can't focus; all I can see is his face. I pull into the parking lot, and make my way to the railing-keeping people from falling into the Pacific Ocean. Not that it helped. If you wanted to jump you could. I have a few minutes to think. I knew that my life was never going to normal after SD-6, but why is this happening. Why now? I was just starting to adjust to living this new life with Vaughn. Angry tears roll down my cheeks, and as I wipe them off, I hear Vaughn's footsteps behind me. He's right on time.
"Thanks for coming here," I choke out. His hand glides to mine and his thumb rubs my knuckle.
"No problem. Syd tell me what's wrong," he looks into my eyes. I see the worry creases form in his forehead.
"Michael, tell me honestly… Have you ever betrayed me?" I ask quietly. I move my eyes somewhere else. Anywhere else, but his.
"Sydney! Of course not! What is this about?" He asks. Something has replaced those loving eyes. His eyes glow in anger, confusion, and hurt.
"You're being investigated by the Agency for treason," I said.
"Sydney, I can't tell you what I am doing, but I can tell you that I am not committing treason. I haven't done anything wrong. I would never betray you or my country. Syd, I'm your ally I just need you trust me please," he said.
"Of course. I'm just scared things haven't been this good in a long time, and when things are good in my life they tend to sour," I say quietly.
"I'm scared too Sydney. I haven't been this happy ever. I am so afraid that someone will take that away, but I promise you that I will never leave you," he says taking me into his arms. We stand like this for a while before he turns me around.
"Syd, can I ask you something?" he speaks in an almost inaudible voice.
"Anything," I say looking into his emerald eyes and smile
"How do you like your eggs?" he asks grinning.
