I do not own The Mighty Ducks. Please have patience this is the first I have written in a few years,
Time heals all wounds. Adam read the quote on the wall. Was that true. Could he be forgiven for making varsity? Could he forgive his friends for leaving him? He had really thought that the dinner was a real tradition. When he learned the truth he was torn and made the wrong choice. Adam felt a part of himself fall away. Why had he not stayed? Then his cloths were frozen. A part of himself shattered just like the shirt. Fire ants? Painful. Dawn came and all he could think was he was wearing the wrong jersey. Another part shattered. Adam was lost and drifting through his days. His grades stayed up only because his father demanded perfection. The Ducks had kept Adam human for so long he didn't know how to function. Sleep, school, practice, homework and repeat.
Hans was dead. The mentor of the team was gone. It seemed so final. The men who defined District 5 as a team. Some would say it was Bombay but who had guided him. He was the reason Adam was given a chance to fly. Hans had confessed to telling Bombay about the rezoning a few years ago. Adam felt himself waking up. Nobody could take his wings. Jans had something to say at the Goodwill Games, "Ducks fly together." He may not wear the uniform but he would be there for his friends. Adam refused to be the lost 10 year-old Hawk again. He was a Duck and would fly.
