Hey everyone. I went back and read this little drabble that I wrote 5 years ago and I decided to rewrite it. Here is the result of that rewrite. I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter rewrite of A Life on Review: The Story of Chiron.
There had been many times over his very long life that Chiron had felt a great swell of pride in what he was doing. He had taught many of the great heroes of Greek mythology.
Getting lost in his memories he saw the people he had taught swimming before his eyes. As though they were alive again and standing in front of him. Still his eager students ready to learn. The original Perseus had been one of his many students and looked very much like the one he knew now. He'd also taught Hercules as well.
His reward for all this teaching from the gods, who were the parents of all these heroes, was to be able to do the one thing he loved the most. He had been granted the ability to teach heroes as long as he was needed. He knew he'd be needed for quite a while now.
A smile spread across his face as his eyes fell upon his pride and joy. Poseidon's son Perseus Jackson. Percy along with his small group of friends had faced many problems in his young life. Some that no mere mortal would be able to handle let alone get through but this boy, this mortal hero, had made it through them all. And it was all thanks to Chiron's teachings.
Watching as Percy turned down the more than generous gift of immortality granted to him by the gods he found himself even more in awe of his student. Percy didn't ask anything for himself. The only thing he asked for was that the gods claim their children and that the minor gods get cabins at camp.
After the meeting was finished Chiron found himself walking over to Percy. "I just wanted to let you know, Percy," Chiron's voice filled with pride as he spoke, "I'm very proud of you." And he was.
I hope you all enjoyed A Life on Review: The Story of Chiron.
