Snow

I watched her dance in the snow that fell from the grey sky. She didn't know I was there, hiding in a tree above her head, my crimson eyes following her every graceful move. As she twirled her aquamarine hair billowed gently in the wind, sliding against her beautiful pale skin. She was an angel surrounded by pure white snowfall, a look of innocent delight on her face.
She had always loved snow, as least as far as I can tell. She had no reason to fear or hate it. It had only ever fallen gently on her skin in soft loving kisses. She never felt its frigid touch. Of course it had accepted her, they were of the same kind. I, on the other hand, was not, and the snowflakes that fell on my skin felt like little barbs of iciness that stung my skin.
Yet the snow that touched her soft skin mesmerized me. Slowly it formed glossy droplets, caressing down her cheeks almost like small tears. I wish it could have been my own fingertips trailing down her skin. But I can't. That's just the way it is. I had accepted that a long time ago.
Still, her laughter resonated in my chest as she reached out to grab onto the falling flakes, too eager to wait for them to embrace her. She gazed up into the sky and I saw her beautiful eyes lock onto mine. She wasn't startled, but smiled gently at me and waved. I felt my heart skip a beat. She was my beautiful sister, so unbelievably beautiful, and no one could ever steal this feeling from my heart.
