She was getting up, roaming around the room and hastily sliding back into the clothes that she had been wearing a few hours before. The sun hadn't even started to rise yet, but she was already heading towards the door. She probably thought that he was still blissfully asleep.

"So you're going to leave without saying goodbye?" He asked her quietly, sitting up in bed. Her scent permeated the sheets around him, and he inhaled the scent like a drug.

"Yeah Kakashi, I don't want a serious relationship right now. I've got so many different things to focus on that I think it would be better to just keep us casual." She said embarrassed to be caught trying to sneak out of his room. Her career was just taking off, which meant long hours stuck at the hospital.

"You just want to be friends with benefits?" he asked her, a bit incredulous. He had never been with a woman who was willing to keep it casual. Never met a woman who tried to sneak out before he was even awake, usually that was his job. One that he was quite good at, though he hadn't considered sneaking out on her.

"For lack of a better term…yes…we'll be friends with benefits." She laughed nervously, edging towards the door. They had gone to his apartment straight from the bar after the drinking contest that got both of them inebriated.

"Do you think we wouldn't work out as a couple? You don't even want to try?" He questioned a puzzled expression on his face. This definitely wasn't the same girl he had taught all those years ago. The one who hadn't dated because of her crush to a certain Uchiha boy.

Sakura just sighed and walked back over to the bed. Sitting down on the edge she held one of her hands up to cup his cheek. "I'm going to be doing extra shifts at the hospital, so it's better if I don't have any entanglements. Focusing on my job is what I really need to do right now. Not get into some relationship that will be over in six months anyway." She said, smiling sadly as she leaned in to kiss his cheek.

There was a slightly hurt expression on his face. "I think we would work. Even though you're going to be stuck in the hospital and I'm going to be stuck out on missions, I still think us as a relationship would work. I care for you too much for it to only last six months. Sakura we've known each other for years, do you really think it would only last six months?" he said to her, almost pleading. He had cared for her too long to just let her walk out on him. Even though she was planning on being a 'friend' with benefits, he didn't just want that part of her. He wanted all of her, for a very long time.

The sound of her laughter caught him by surprise, and he got indignant. "What? I don't see anything funny about this situation" he huffed, looking away from her.

"You're right Kakashi. I don't just want to have a one night stand with you and have us go our separate ways. You forget that I've known you for years sometimes, do you know how many times you've complained to us about women who want commitments from you?" she said, still laughing. " I had to make it be you as the one who wanted the relationship, because I knew you'd balk if I suggested

something like that." Leaning in closer to him, she smiled. "So the answer is yes, I do want a relationship, and yes I do think it'll work. I'm also glad you've realized this as well. It makes my job that much easier since I don't have to tell you now." Kissing him softly, she climbed back into bed and curled around his side.

Kakashi was still staring at her in shock. She was seriously the most amazing woman in the world, he thought, to effectively use that kind of reverse psychology on him and make him want to stay even when she admits it. I think I love her.
