Belphegor only stood with his usual smirk and stared at his favorite playmate, noting how her face depicted pain. Though not inflicted by him, but the illness she had somehow caught. It was just the usual flu, though. But Megumi claimed that her muscles hurt and that her head felt like exploding.
She was sleeping right now, and he could do nothing around the Varia headquarters, he wanted to play a game with her, but it looked like it couldn't be helped, seeing as lying down was already hard enough for her.
"Ushishishi~ What a pity, Megumi-hime~"
He walked out of the room with a loud slam of the door which made Megumi twitch in her sleep. When he reached the living room where the windows were glasses, he noticed the sky and his mind coursed back to that time where she had rambled on about the stars.
"I want to touch the stars, it's really beautiful, seeing them flock together."
That time Belphegor had noticed the light shine in her eyes, and he only laughed under his breath again at the memory. But now he was bored, he needed something to do, and just as he thought that, who else but Mammon comes strolling up to the living room.
Mammon feels the gaze on him, and turns to Belphegor who was laughing his trademark laugh.
"Mammon, you need money don't you? The prince has a lot, ushishishi~"
That's how Mammon agreed to play Belphegor's game.
A few hours later, Megumi starts to stir, feeling the muscles on her back acting up again. She sighed, trying to turn on her side for a more comfortable position but only winced when the pain seared through her. She slowly turned on her back, and opened her eyes.
At first, all she saw was darkness, until she blinked a few times and gasped, looking at the ceiling and noting that she was looking at the sky full of stars. She sat up slowly, and saw that her bed was floating in mid air, everywhere around her, there were stars that sparkled in the sky.
She reached out for one, her hand trying to grasp the small shine, but once it was in her reach, her surroundings dissolved and turned into her own room again, only this time, in her hand, was a yellow paper star, hanging from the ceiling.
She blinked, and she broke into a smile and small giggle.
"Ushishishi~ Does the princess like the stars? The prince made them~ With a little help from Mammon~"
Megumi turned her head to the door where Belphegor and Mammon stood, she smiled and looked back at her ceiling full of hanging paper stars.
"Thank you, Belphegor-sama, Mammon-sama."
She said politely at her two seniors, although they were close, she liked to be respectful. Mammon only grunted in reply and Belphegor walked up to her, ruffling her hair,
"Ushishishi~ Anything for my royal princess~"
Megumi slightly blushed,
"Now, are you ready to play with me?"
but the prince always had a condition for every reward.
