Changes Made: Descriptions Were Improved Slightly

*Feudal Japan*

Past the vast greenly forests that covered most of the land, a loud commotion was occurring within the remote village that was beyond the outskirts of many trees and mountains. The small settlement appeared to be amidst an attack of sorts, the townspeople placed in sheer panic as the men roamed around their village with weapons and the women hid themselves within their homes alongside their young offspring. Everyone within the small town were wearing rustic feudal era clothing, the year being approximately somewhere between the 1400s and 1600s; it was a time of war between humans and demons. All of the men were trying to subdue a single half-bred that was causing mischief within their homeland, but nothing they did appeared to be working.

"It's Inuyasha!" As the male villagers scattered around the settlement in fear, the half-demon in question leaped into the air whilst trapped within a net that couldn't contain him entirely. In mere seconds, the silver-white haired Inuyasha slashed through the net maliciously with the claws on his fingers, ultimately freeing himself with ease as he smirked. Various grappling hooks were shot towards him, but he easily hopped out of the way as he intentionally crashed through the roof of a sacred temple that had laid just ahead of him. Between flaming lanterns, a necklace with a glowing pink pearl sat atop a wooden table. Inuyasha stared at it with his golden eyes, his pupils like slits, and he smiled evilly, showing off his short fangs to no one. Greedily, he snatched the necklace from its resting place and his furry, pointed dog-like ears twitched slightly in pleasure.

He turned quickly towards the entrance of the temple as two villagers barged through the doors. A large variety of spears were thrown at Inuyasha, but all of them missed as he perfectly dodged without moving very much. One of the spears knocked into one of the several lanterns, tipping it over, and the temple immediately caught on fire. With haste, Inuyasha jumped from where he stood and he escaped through the ceiling. Immediately afterwards, the roof of the temple exploded and he glanced down towards it, continuing to smirk at all of the destruction he was causing. He grunted to himself, pleased. "So there." He glanced at the jewel he had stolen and he continued speaking to himself. "With this in my possession, I finally have the way for me to become all demon." He began making his way out of the village, trying to get away from the scene of the crime.

Standing at the entrance of the village, with bow and arrows in hand, was an injured young woman. She was very beautiful; she had flawless alabaster-white skin and long, rich black hair that fell past her slim waist, it (her hair) being tied in a loose ponytail by a ribbon. Her lovely big brown eyes glared at Inuyasha's back as blood dripped from her fresh wounds. Priestess Kikyō, attired in the traditional dress of a Miko, stood her ground as she drew back an arrow, her continuously glaring eyes staring upon her intended target. "Inuyasha!" she yelled with determination. Shortly afterwards, she released the arrow and it was sent flying across the fields.

Inuyasha continued running, trying to leave the area with the necklace in his grasp. As he turned back while running by a tree, the arrow that Kikyō fired quickly pierced into his chest. As the force of the blow pinned him to the tree behind him, his grip on the necklace loosened and as it flew from his hand, he tried in vain to grab it again. He kept his arm raised as he weakly watched the jewel land on the ground away from him. From across the land, Kikyō looked at him determinedly. He stared back at her in disbelief as she began limping her way towards him to collect the necklace. "Ki... Kikyō..." he weakly said. "How could...? I thought...?" He released a breath as he lost consciousness, his arm dropping to his side and it brushed against his red robes.

Eventually, Kikyō made it to the glowing jewel and she dropped to her knees weakly, a trail of blood behind her; she had been seriously injured and she knew that her time of living would pass in a matter of moments, so she needed to act quickly. A young girl with her eye patched up rushed over to her from behind, worried for her older sibling. Several villagers followed behind her, all who were just as worried for Kikyō's health.

Kikyō dismissed their words of her injuries as she gripped onto the jewel tightly. "I forgot who I... And now see what..." She grunted in pain as she strained to remain in a crouching position. She stared down at the necklace. "All for this... The Sacred Jewel, which..." She, once more, grunted in pain. Her younger sister, Kaede, reached out for her, almost demanding that Kikyō find someone to treat her wounds. "I won't feel it much longer," Kikyō told everyone around her. She didn't bother trying to ease the tension in the air, knowing that her lying would be useless because she could feel that she was quickly growing closer to death. She held up the jewel as she looked at Kaede, holding the necklace towards her. "And so, I give you this. The Shikon No Tama, which you must burn with my body. It must not fall into the hands of those who would abuse it." Suddenly, she tensed up and clenched onto the orb of the necklace, limply falling onto her side as she started to take her last breaths whilst her younger sibling screamed her name. "The Shinkon No Tama... I shall take it with me... To the other world..."

Following through with Kikyō's final spoken words, the villagers burned her corpse with the jewel... It was such a tragedy... A tragedy that could've been prevented...

Hello! Welcome back! Formerly made in roleplay format, this version of Falling For A Half Demon is newly improved. Again. By not much, really. I had decided to go through everything and fix it up some. I'm more pleased with this version of shit than the last version of shit that was once this prologue. Not much of an improvement but it's still an improvement. It's still quite short, but longer in words than it was originally. Instead of less than 600 words, it's barely passed by 1,000. Still an improvement, though. I hope you enjoyed; if not, oh well. I suggest for you not to read the following chapters until they are edited; I want to make it more durable for you all.
