The darkness was only momentary. The wind was cool, in a moment, light returned. There was no pain, there was only confusion.
Where am I?
Thoughts echoed through the misty fog surrounding the soul, a life taken to this place far too soon. Lights, of many different colors, was all the soul could see.
Rain, the sound of rain hitting the soil, was ahead of it. Little at first, but more and more as time and word spread. The soul that had affected many, their tears now readied the passing river.
A ferry to aid souls arrived by the river of tears, a hand out at the ready. Pebbles rose to the surface, allowing the soul to step onto the ferry. Hesitance. There was still so much work to be done.
A world created left incomplete for now, to never be the same again.
However, a light of hope in the ferryman's hand. A soft, rose red hue.
The soul knew, everything will be alright. The soul reached up for the light, allowing it to calm. To help. To allow rebirth.
What was the soul's paradise? Where would the soul go? Some say, we create our own final resting place. The soul was one such believer in life.
Darkness slowly arrived once more, a relaxing darkness. A sleep darkness. A darkness of peace.
Lay down your sweet and weary head...
The soul regained a feeling, a weight, a consciousness, and soon, a vision. Through slightly new but familiar eyes, it was as if the soul was awakening from a gentle sleep. Awakened blinking to a jolly voice. A young woman with bright blue eyes and short, orange hair, in front of the soul's new vision.
"Wake up, lazy bud!"
AN: I needed to write this to try and get over his passing. My roommate and I both believe that you can create your own paradise, your own Heaven. And we both think Monty Oum is now in the amazing world of RWBY that he created almost completely on his own. It still hurts to know he is no longer with us, and I mourn him just as much as any member and fan of Rooster Teeth has, I just needed to get this off my chest. The song, "Into The West" was a very big inspiration for this, especially the acapella version by Peter Hollans. Give it a listen to if you haven't yet.
Rest in peace, Monty, we will always love you.
