The ride on the stage to Virginia city was hot and dusty. Inger Borgstrom was not enjoying it but she wanted to see her son and Ben Cartwright. Inger was so excited. She was going to surprise her former husband and her son. She couldn't wait to see how grown her son was. She was also looking forward to seeing Ben. She understood that he h had the biggest ranch in Nevada. She couldn't wait to see the whole Ponderosa. Finally the stage rolled to a stop in Virginia City. Inger was happy to be off the stage. She spotted a good looking lad coming out of the saloon. He had a mop of messy curls and was wearing a green jacket.
Inger walked up to him and said, "Excuse me I was wondering if you would point me in the direction of the Ponderosa.
Joe Cartwright replied, " Why dont I just take you there. Im Joe Cartwright."
Inger did a doube take. She hadn't realized that Ben had another son. Inger was about to say no and run away, but she decided against it.
