The Game of Life is Hard to Play by Hawk&Hotlips (a.k.a Hawk-Hotlips)

A/N: OK guys, this is a songfic. My first songfic. It's a story with the song partially acted out and the song is sang. The song is "Suicide is Painless" which was a theme song to the movie 'MASH' but since I bet kids (like me) will mostly read this, you would have never heard of that movie or song, so look it up! I don't own anything about MASH or the Suite Life or the song. Note, story is angsty.

I looked around my room, and had the knife in hand. Zack and Cody were still sitting at the game table with the game 'Life' still out, it's so hard to play. The morning fog was rolling in, it seems almost like I can see into the future and see the things to be, the pains that are withheld from me, and things like that.

I decided that I couldn't wait any longer, I had the knife raised to my chest. It had been a depressing life for me, red hair and freckles weren't exactly working for me. Zack stopped me for a second and said,

"Bob, are you sure?"

"Yes," I said quickly, "I just want to get it done and over with it."

Cody said, "Wait, since you're committing suicide, there is a song we have to sing for you."

"A song?" I asked him, "There is a song for committing suicide?"

"Yes, there is, and both of us would like to sing it. Right Zack?"

"Right," He said back, "What do you have to lose anyway?"

"Alright," I said, "Just make it quick."

"OK, here it goes," Then they both start singing;

"Through early morning fog I see,

visions of the things to be,

the pains that are withheld from me,

I realize and I can see that,

Suicide is painless,

it brings on many changes,

and I can take or leave it if I please.

The game of life is hard to play,

I'm going to lose it anyway,

The losing card I'll someday lay,

"That's beautiful." I said, crying my eyes out.

They look at me solemnly and said, "Yes it is isn't it?"

"That's all there is?" I asked.

"Well, no," Cody said, "There is another verse or two but it's not needed."

"Why?"

"You dropped the knife. Now all you need is help."

"Right." We went and told my parents what almost happened, they called the hospital and I got help.

Now it's a few month's later and I'm fine. Thanks to Zack and Cody and their song, I avoided killing myself. I'm grateful for that.
