That's All That Matters.
He hadn't told anyone. No one. Not even his own mother. Not Eli. Not Drew. No one. And of course he wasn't going to tell Clare. Because.. Well, it concerned her.
Adam had a crush on Clare.
He couldn't help himself. He knew she was already Eli's. He wasn't able to change his feelings towards the auburn-haired girl. Sure Eli and Clare weren't dating. Yet. But he knew Eli's crush on Clare and Adam couldn't bring himself to ruin that. And in the back of his head, he knew Clare liked Eli back. He liked to push the thought away. He didn't want to believe it.
So, when Eli asked Clare out that day, and Clare responded with a, 'yes,' he silently cried. Heartbroken.
But Clare was happy.
That's all that matters.
Right?
