He stood at her gravesite tears streaming down his face. This was the second time he'd buried the love of his life. Only this time she wouldn't be walking back into his life looking like the Angel he knew she was. Their son, Wolfie Jr., and grandson, Robert, gave him time alone at the graveside as he sat down on the cold ground.
In 1944 he'd thought she was killed in an air raid only to be reunited in 1968 along with their children. They had twenty five years together as husband and wife. For six weeks, he sat at her bedside as the illness sapped her strength and took his love away at a young 71 years old. He spent every moment with her when they received the news the doctors couldn't help her ailing heart. As she slipped away from him on Christmas Eve, he looked deep into her eyes and held her hand. She mouthed 'I love you,' then passed.
Snow started falling gently; the pain of losing his wife ran deep in his chest as his fist went to his heart. "You brought laughter and love into my life and I don't know how to live without you," Wolfgang Hochstetter said, as he lay down by her grave and slept the eternal rest with Angie Hochstetter on December 28, 1993.
