Severus Snape is a very misunderstood man, however I think this character should not go under appreciated, which is why having read the seventh and final Harry Potter book knowing his true loyalty to Albus Dumbledore another great character despite his faults. I have decided to write a piece for Severus.

Called again,

Always the same,

The sharp burning pain that never seems to stop,

Not even after the mark grows black.

Black as ebony.

Surviving Crucio,

The torture curse,

The one he loves to use the most,

Making the pain completely consume you,

Running through your body in an excruciating rush.

Albus always said the truth was preferable,

Lying was a sin,

That's why he gave you truths to feed to Voldemort,

So Voldemort couldn't see through you.

Albus wanted you alive.

Your students thought you cruel,

Snarky, evil, bastard, git,

Snarling, sneering, jeering

Demanding, instructing,

Intelligent never kind or brave,

No not the head of Slytherin.

They were wrong Severus,

Wrong.

You were brave,

You still are,

You faced Voldemort many times,

And lived to tell the tale,

No matter how horrible it was.

Potions was a true gift Severus,

Bewitching,

Ensnaring,

Bottling,

Brewing,

Simmering,

Stoppering,

Stirring and creating.

You loved the Dark Arts too,

It intrigued you and your knowledge kept you alive.

Shame they humiliated you for it,

Hanging you by your underpants,

Blasted Marauders!

You hid yourself under your billowing robes,

Covered yourself in black,

Kept up a mask and let no one in.

Except Albus.

You loved, lost and yet you kept going.

You never stopped.

You should get an award but I think you have your reward now.

Death has freed you of both your masters,

You can do what you choose now.

You don't have to serve two masters.

Rest in Peace Severus.

Amities,

Satine4
