Disclaimer: I don't own Warriors

The cats of ThunderClan stared at their fallen leaders' stiff, herb covered body. The sun was setting now, casting a shadow across almost the enitre camp. "He was a great father." Squirrelflight murmured, barely above a whisper. Her eyes clouded in grief as her sister padded to join her, nodding in agreement.

"The best mate I could have wanted." Sandstorm mewed softly beside Squirrelflight.

"The greatest leader the forest as known." Cloudtail added, several cats nodding along.

"My best friend." Heads turned to see Graystripe pad closer from his place on the edge of the clearing. The gray tom had barely spoken since Firestars' death.

"I remember...back when I first met him." Graystripe began, happy memories mixing with near overwhelming grief. "Just a kittypet in the forest, hunting our prey. I remember our days training together...those were the days. Hardly a care in the forest, concerned about cleaning dens and waking up in time to catch our patrols." His whiskers twitched in amusement, his clanmates watching him as he walked around and around the fallen cats' body. "Our first mission as Warriors... going to help WindClan." Grief reappeared in his gaze. "Who could have guessed back then that that dopey kittypet would become one of the greatest cats the forest has known, and like my own littermate?" He paused, and stopped pacing. He looked down at Firestar's body, his voice straining. "Farewell Firestar. Friend, leader, littermate. I'll see you in the stars." And with that, the gray tom said goodbye to the cat who had meant so much to him, to all of them, for the final time. He padded into the Warriors den, Millie following close behind, neither of them knowing that Firestar had heard his friends words loud and clear from his place among the sky- and planned to give them a visit very soon.
