Um, this is a one shot obviously. I came up with the name Leaffeather when I was 11, and I thought I would do something with ShadowClan since I made them seem super evil in Fernstep's Kits. Enjoy! In fact, I came up with a lot of warrior names when I was eleven.

A cloud drifted over the moon. A dark grey she cat grunted as her kits suckled at her belly. Suddenly, she stiffened. A new scent was on the breeze. A huge black and white shape lumbered toward her den, bellowing.

She detached herself from her kits, despite their cries. She had only given birth two days ago, but she was strong. Even so, it was her against this huge strength, and she hadn't recovered fully from her labor. She launched silently through the air, claws glinting in the moonlight, and landed on its back.

Roaring, it tried to roll over and crush her, but she leaped off in time. It flashed an enormous paw out, and she dodged, shrieking in agony as the badger tore a wound in her side. Will someone help me? She thought desperately.

"Get away from my mate!" A voice bellowed angrily.

She looked up hopefully to see her mate charging out of the forest.

"Icestar, help me!" She frantically called.

Icestar slashed repeatedly at the badger, and his mate joined in, despite the excruciating pain from the wound in her side. When it had enough, it lumbered away, groaning in pain. The she cat staggered, and fell, blood gushing from her wounds.

"Take care of our kits." She whispered, and was still.

"Leaf, no." Icestar whispered, heart-broken.

Mewling woke Icestar from his thoughts, and he saw his kits for the first time. One was dead, frozen, and he drew in sharp breath. He placed the dead one beside Leaf, and buried them quickly. Then he turned to the other.

A tiny, fluffy light brown she kit gazed up at him through forest colored eyes. He stiffened. She had Leaf's eyes.

"Your name will be Leafkit, in memory of your mother, who died to save you. Never forget her, or your sister."

Moons later...

"StarClan honors your bravery and compassion. I name you Leaffeather."

"Leaffeather, Leaffeather!"

Leaffeather licked her father's shoulder. Love filled her as she thought of her clan. She had come far from kit hood, and was now a warrior. The medicine cat, Flowerdust, walked up.

"Leaffeather, I'm proud of you. You've had a hard past, but a bright future." Flowerdust dipped her head and left.

Leaffeather inhaled the pine scented air. True, ShadowClan had doubted her at first, but she had earned their trust. I will always protect you, no matter what. She vowed.

The end.

Review, it means a lot to me!
