Her and the pirate. Of course. He never should have listened to August. He never should have left Emma. Then, he thought it was the best thing for her... because Pinocchio said so. Idiot, he thought to himself, this is nuts. I'm losing the woman I love because Pinocchio told me it was the best thing for her. He kicked a rock down the street as he saw Hook following after Emma like a little puppy. Pathetic, really. He knew that fighting for her wouldn't be as easy as before. Now, she didn't trust him. Now, he had competition. He should have come for her after the curse had broken. He was scared. Scared of his father, of magic, but mostly he was scared she would hate him.

She walked down the street, trying to ignore the man stubbornly following her. Perhaps she should lock him up again. That usually gave her an hour or so at least to be away from him. She was definitely not happy about her situation. She had two men that wanted her, and she didn't want either of them. The voice in her head piped up. Liar. Okay so that hadn't been completely true. She still wanted Neal. She wanted to let him in, but she couldn't. He left her. Thinking about him made her remember warm smiles and kind eyes and passionate kisses. Suddenly, Hook piped, "Ah, there it is, Swan." "What?" she asked confused after being pulled from her trance. "The smile," he said. Oh was all she said back. She hadn't even realized she had been smiling. Mentally shaking herself, she looked away. Across the street, she saw Neal himself walking and kicking a rock. He caught her eye and smiled and started raising his hand in a wave before something flitted across his face. His hand shot back to his pocket and he walked off, definitely more quickly than before.
