(those baby blues both filled with innocence and worn from the years looked right into me)
"Will you keep my secret, Lois?"
Secrets, which have been held inside for so many damn years, come spilling out and it only took a matter of seconds for him to welcome me into this super life of his with open arms.
(telling me that earned the right to know the biggest thing in his universe)
I had waited patiently, something I could never do with anyone else, for that wonderful secret to come from his lips rather than my own, and it was worth the wait.
"Clark, it will be the only secret I'll ever be able to keep, and I'll do it for you."
It was clear that I would remember this day for the rest of my life, hoping that at end I'll still be by his side (even if I'm a crabby old woman and he's still Superman), and during it I would never open my mouth to tell a single soul.
(gaining me more love and safety than I could ever imagine)
Not even torture could bring it out of me, after all this waiting I was not about to ruin it with my horrible mouth, and truth me those sons of bitches would do that.
(the dead would come back to life to do just that, which a wicked smile in place)
That ever growing worry, which once threated to sallow him whole (and I only wanted to help ease his burden), seemed to melt away when I took his hand and promised him something I would never think of breaking.
"Now that it's out of the way, Lois Lane, I have a present for you."
I did not hesitate when he offered him hand out to me, and I would never think twice about ever again (until bizarro came and tried to grab my ass once again), and before I could blink we were flying.
(not know that it was my touch that made those feet of his begin to float)
"My god, Clark, you are Superman."
For the first time and most certainly not the last he flew me up, up, and away. Through those clouds, and brought me to places that no man could never do.
(but he isn't a man, he's my superman)
"Not yet but trust me I will be him very soon."
