Since I've seen so many people complain about the way chapter 282 went down, I've decided to write about my own interpretation.

Please don't get offended if you don't agree with some of the things I wrote, it's just how I saw things.

It's got nothing about romance, it's just about two people trying to move on from recent events and dealing with it the best they can.

I really hope this might widen your prespectives.

I do not own Magi, heartbreaking manga it is.

She sees him with his sword resting against his neck and she reacts.

She pushes the blade away from his neck.

He looks up at her, surprised. "Morgiana."

She says nothing, but simply stares at him. He says nothing but looks at the floor.

Finally, she speaks. "Hakuryuu…were you planning on taking your life with that sword?"

He still does not look at her. "No…I have to protect this country…that I just took back. And as the new Emperor, I'm not allowed to die."

She does not believe this. "Alibaba died."

He flinches, finally looking at her.

"You killed him." It still hurts to say it.

He looks as though he cannot bear this. "Morgiana…"

"I have…regrets."

"Regrets?" He looks confused.

"Yes." She straightens up. "I regret that, when we parted in Aktia Kingdom," she thinks of his shocking heartfelt proposal, "I was unable to stop you."

She knows he is thinking the same thing: how she turned him down cruelly, mercilessly.

"I should have stopped you, even if I had to use brute force. I didn't do it even though I was feeling uneasy." She regrets what she did not do. "If I had done so, we might be seeing a different future now…"

"It's as if I killed Alibaba myself."

"…you're …wrong!" He is to blame: he is the one who struck down Alibaba.

He is the reason why she is unhappy.

Why they're both unhappy.

"…you liked him, right…?" He refuses to look at her.

"Yes." She surprises him with her answer; he had not expected this.

"I didn't know at first, but I have finally realized.

I liked him.

I think I fell in love with him."

"…I see…" He knows this to be true. He does not like it, but it is true.

"So…you hate me now, right…?" He holds up his sword in mock defense. He stills himself for her attack.

He does not expect her response: "No."

He does not understand.

She sees him trembling. "Both you and Alibaba fought while putting your lives on the line. And as a result, you killed Alibaba."

"I don't know hat happened between the two of you at the time.

Even if this is part of some inescapable fate …"

He gazes at her in wonder.

"You should continue to live your life. And you should accomplish the things you wanted to accomplish."

To him, she seems to be shining. Dazzling.

"I will watch you. I will continue to watch you in the future, together with Aladdin. And if then I see you acting strange, like how you did in the past, then…"

She gazes at him, letting him see the determination in her resolute eyes.

"I will stop you."

He glares back at her wordlessly.

"That's all I wanted to tell you. Excuse me." She bows and leaves the room, leaving him with his thoughts and to ponder on her words.

What she said was true-she does not hate him.

She can never hate him.

He is her friend, someone whom she cares about, and perhaps pities a little.

She does not hate him for slaying Alibaba.

She loved Alibaba. Loves Alibaba. Even though he is gone…

She loves Alibaba. But she does not hate.

She will watch. Because that…

…that is what she has resolved to do.

By the way, this is unrelated, but I've set up a poll in my profile about which of my stories you readers like the most. You don't really have to vote, it's just something I'm curious about. But it'd be nice if you did vote.

Until 2016, everyone!
