New World: Prologue
The Cavern
A girl, about my age was standing in a cave clothed in white. The cave was well decorated with several features illuminated by dim torchlight. A boy was standing there, also in white clothes, dazed and unaware of what was happening. A huge monster with wings on its back was flying, hovering behind the girl. Like a missile, it flew towards them, wreaking havoc and destroying the beautiful cavern. It swiftly left with a silver sphere in its mouth, etched with swirling patterns of a peculiar fashion, leaving the boy dead, or at least I assume he was dead taking into account his pale, limp body as white as snow, as white as his clothes except for a red streak running down his side. The girl washed him in the stream that was running through the cave
After a few minutes, she felt for a pulse. It became apparent to her that he was dead. She performed some kind of ritual with washing his lifeless body, placing a spear into his hand, and sending him off on a journey down the clear river on a small but elegantly carved raft made out of a wood that I haven't come across in this world. In my mind, I followed him down the bubbling waters until he seemed to disappear into blackness. The view panned slowly back to where the girl was sitting, sobbing her heart out. I assume she had just witnessed the sudden, uncalled for death of her lover. I could not figure out what was happening; my brain was in overdrive. My thoughts centered on the girl again, just as the dream slipped into blackness.
This is my first story, I hope it's good.
Review and keep patient while I write further.
